Low-rise Jeans
Low-rise jeans are manufactured in many styles, the tight version being the most popular. They also come in loose, baggy, flare and destroyed styles. The immense popularity of low-rise jeans has inspired manufacturers to make lowrise styles of other kinds of pants as well. Fits of any pair of jeans is determined by current styles, gender, and by the manufacturer. Some popular of the fits of the past and present have been the ankle cut, loose cut, straight cut, boot cut, baggy, slim fit boy cut, bell bottom/flare, saggy carpenter, original classic and skinny leg .
Rises in jeans (the distance from the crotch to the waistband) range from the high-waisted to the superlow-rise. The lastest in jeans fashion are the low-rise jeans. These have a deliberately low-cut waist intended to sit low on, or below, the hips. Also known as lowcut jeans, hipsters, hip-huggers and lowriders, they are intentionally cut lower on the waist, thus covering less body on front (the belly) and the back. Usually these jeans sit at least three inches lower than the belly button.
The "rise" of jeans is determined by the distance between the crotch and the waist and is usually around 10 inches on the regular conventional pants. In contrast, lowrise jeans typically have a rise of about 6 inches. Several brandmanufacturers also highlight the feature by altering the rise of the zipper. They create pants with zippers far shorter than regular pants, usually between 2 and 3 inches, while some other manufacturers go to the extent of reducing the size of the zippers to1 inch , such as Dorinha Wear. The latter can also be classified as ultra lowrise jeans, and the small zipper no longer serves its traditional function, but rather becomes an embellishment and a display of fashion.
Although low-rise jeans came into existence as early as in the 1960s, their renewed popularity among young women, and the subsequent lower back tattoo trends they inspired, were one of the earliest phenomena that distinguished the popular fashion of the 2000s from that of the previous decade. Becoming aware that their underwear is no longer always hidden inside their pants, more people choose the underwear they wear more carefully, to show it off with their low-rise jeans. The thong is most in vogue as it is paired with the lowrise jeans by many. It exposes more skin than it covers and is worn more for fashion than as an article of utility. The conventional panty is also still worn regularly under the lowrise jeans. Another fashion trend is to wear no underwear at all.
Tattoos placed on the lower belly or back are very popular with wearers of low-rise jeans. While the regular above-the- navel pants would normally not have displayed a tattoo on those spots, it now becomes visible and also very attractive, especially when in a semi-revealed state.
The fashion trend of stretch, tight and low rise jeans has had its enemies. In 2003, Dr. Malvinder S. Parmar's study revealed that wearing tight lowrise jeans puts unnecessasary pressure on a sensory nerve, which can cause pain and paresthesia in the nerve's area of distribution. This condition is known as Meralgia paresthetica and shows symptoms of a tingling or a burning sensation some of the thigh muscles. The problem with previously examined patients was resolved when they avoided wearing tight, low-rise jeans, and recovery took about 4 to 6 weeks.
Legislator Derrick Shepherd of the state of Louisiana in the USA made a futile attempt in 2004 to outlaw low-rise jeans, particularly to bring a halt to the display of underwear under the pants, claiming the trend to be obscene and disrespectful. He proposed that people who were caught with their underpants showing would be fined $500. However, thanks to popular dissent, this bill (HB 1703) was rejected by the Louisiana House and many people continue to enjoy this fashion statement.

Low Rise Jeans Tips
We all love low rise jeans but wearing low rise jeans does have some challenges. Firstly, traditional styled jeans end at the waist. As the waist generally measures less than the hips, they taper gently in at the waist and this design feature helps to keep them up. Low-rise jeans have to be tight enough around the hips to keep them from falling down. This can often result in the top of the low rise jean cutting into what are coarsely referred to as the "love handles", resulting in an unsightly bulge above and below the jean top. Visually, women's low-rise jeans actually make the hip area larger and the length of the leg shorter. This visual illusion is created because there is less fabric and the entire length of the pant or jeans ends mid way through the hip area. The hip area is generally larger on most women and having the low rise jeans end on the largest part of a women's body draws visual attention there. The total length of the jean is also shorter as it starts at the hip, again resulting in the visual appearance of a shorter leg.
An additional challenge of girls low rise jeans is that their centre back seam is also quite short. When someone wearing low-rise jeans bends over, it often reveals more of the buttock area than most of us want to see. A classic and humorous example of this is on Cath and Kim where Cath bends over to reveal a large proportion of bottom crack along with her gee string which has ridden significantly above the top of her low rise jeans. This also occurs when someone wearing low rider jeans sits down. There is just not enough fabric to cover the buttock area once bent and this is even more prevalent in super low rise jeans. This is a very unsightly scene even on the most magnificent of bodies. If a poll was conducted to find out how many people are quite turned off by "builders crack", I have no doubt the resounding majority of people do not wish to see buttocks revealed by low rider jeans.
Clearly then, while low-rise jeans are very comfortable, they do have some challenges when wearing them. These challenges though, can always be overcome with some simple techniques and ideas. For example, wearing a slightly longer fashionable T-shirt or cardigan will eliminate the builders crack problem whilst buying a size bigger rather than a size smaller can help eliminate the unsightly bulge above and below the low rise jeans top.

Stretch Jeans
Almost a century ago, Levi Strauss created what came to be the first modern jeans. This universal youth style statement and fashion apparel has had a long symbolic history. Interestingly, what is now an essential part of every wardrobe actually began as a symbol of change and was met with a lot of resentment, and was considered a threat to conventional English trousers. Stylishly fusing the rugged, rough and durable look with fashion, today almost all social and economic classes wear them. Trends and fashion icons come and go but wearing stylish, comfortable jeans has always remained in style.
While their charisma springs from their legendary American roots, the commercial strength of jeans rests on innovation and interpretation in the hands of jeans makers around the world.
The variety of jeans available is seemingly endless. The variation in cloth andmaterial, cut and style, number and style of pockets, embellishmants, the color and the wash given to the fabric are all factors to take into consideration. There are jeans designed for just about any physical build and fashion sense out there.
Stretch jeans are made of a fabric that contains elastic and stretches to fit the body like a second skin. They are stylish, make many people look thinner and enhance the body's shape. Stretch jeans cut and stiched in different styles perform many figure enhancing and camouflaging miracles.
Tight jeans have been selling like hot cakes for many years now, especially in combination with the lowrise, or even no-waistband. Stretch jeans have become the second best selling clothing item, right behind the standard 5 pocket jean pants. The cotton/spandex is very popular among all stretch denim materials. Floral, embroidered and beaded stretch jeans are also rapidly gaining ground in the market. Another popular stretch denim material combination constitutes of 71% cotton 28% polyester and 1% spandex. Cotton-lycra blends are also stretchable and help create a sleek look. The clingy fabric hugs the body and a contoured waistband helps create curves. Many fashion experts suggest choosing a pair of jeans that has been lightened at the thighs and knees as they will make the legs look shapelier.
Jeans are usually considered an article of clothing that make people look slimmer, but when improperly styled they do just the opposite! If your hips are much larger than your waist then you will probably face this problem. Stretch denim jeans work wonders in such a situation. It is advisable to stay away from crisp or heavy fabrics if you are looking to hide body flaws.
Every person has a unique build and body shape and there are so many types of jeans out there, the perfect pair for just about anybody is available!
For the production of fashionable tight fitting stretch jeans, the manufacturers not only need to use good stretchable comfortable and durable material, but they also need to be conscious of the average body structures of the people of the region they are supplying. In today's highly consumer oriented market, fashion retailers and wholesalers need to choose a rather narrow target market before they do anything else. Just a few centimeters of difference in hip or upper leg measurements can make you an instant hit or a complete failure. For instance, the difference of structure between the very small Thai girls and average Russian women could cause a very uncomfortable fit of the tight jeans for the Russian women, leading the designer's line to fail in that area.
Designers today are becoming increasingly conscious of this consumer-specific need. Hence, a pair of jeans can be designed in innumerable ways, including stretch fabrics. The combination of elastic and denim helps to simultaneously enhance and camouflage body parts accordingly to create the look of a well-toned, curvaceous body.
As they say, "fashion comes at a cost!!" A few years ago, the Canadian Medical Association Journal received a letter detailing the cases of three women who had developed a nerve condition similar to carpal tunnel syndrome as a result of regularly wearing pants that were too tight. This Canadian doctor warned that excessively tight trousers could squeeze a sensory nerve under the hipbone, causing a tingling, burning sensation called paresthesia. In a statement unlikely to endear him to fashion-conscious females, he said "low-rise" trousers were not suitable for "heavy women" and suggested that women should return to wearing the traditional high-waisted jeans or, preferably, loose dresses.
Nonetheless, the popularity of stretch jeans has only grown and people have testified for their benefits far more than the side effects (which occurs only in cases of excessive use). Stretch jeans today are the designer's magic potion. A clever and talented use of stretch denim material can make the legs appear short or long or the buttocks look smaller or large appropriately. Some even claim to make the tummy look flatter. All of these body enhancing features are reasons people buy and wear stretch jeans.

Women's Bootcut Jeans - Wear Them to the Office Or to the Club!
There are a lot of things to take into consideration when you are purchasing a pair of women's bootcut jeans. For example, what kind of rise do you want from your jeans? Do you want a loose fit or a tight fit or somewhere in between? What about the wash of the jean, do you prefer standard blue or do you like a faded look. Do you like your jeans to look worn or brand spanking new? What about the fly, do you want a zipper or button? The bottom line is that you are going to either have to try on a lot of jeans or spend some time researching your options in order to pick the perfect pair of jeans.
One of the first things that you may want to do is check what women's bootcut jeans look good on your body type. Got great tight abs? Then low rise might be just right for you. Carrying a little extra weight in your upper thighs? Try a jean that starts dark at the top and slowly lightens up to white when it gets to the ankles, this will give you the appearance of slimmer legs. Have a small derriere? Choose a pair of boot cut jeans that have small low pockets, which will give your bottom a more voluptuous look. Spend some time online finding out what other tricks can make you look even more fabulous.
Women's bootcut jeans have not been around all that long, however it did not take very long for them to become a staple mark in women's wardrobes everywhere. One of the great thing about boot cut jeans is that they can be worn with a nice pair of boots, a nice top and some great accessories and be worn to the office. While this is possible for most jeans these days, boot cuts have the additional advantage of being more fashionable with the flared bottoms, but are not so over the top that they are out of place in a professional setting. But, they are also trendy enough that you can wear them out to the club when you are done with work for the day.

Plus Size Skinny Jeans and Clothing
Just because you're not stick thin doesn't mean that you can't keep up with the latest styles and trends - in this case, skinny jeans.
Teamed with a simple black top, brightly colored plus size skinny jeans can easily add that bit of extra flare to your existing wardrobe. Or paired with a fancy top, plain black skinny jeans can really pull your entire outfit together.
Don't let anybody tell you that skinny-leg jeans, colored or not, aren't a good idea if you're a larger woman - you'd be surprised at just how flattering they are - and how they can make your confidence soar!
Plus Size Clothing Introduction
We don't want to wear tents!
Plus size clothing is a general term used to describe clothing that comes in larger sizes for larger people. In department stores however plus size clothing isn't always that easy to find. If you're a larger woman, next time you're out shopping for clothes take a good look at the difference between the styles offered in the womens department and the plus size womens department. What exactly happens between sizes 14-16 (also known as the borderline between plus size and, dare I say it, "normal") that makes the designers think that all bigger women want to walk around wearing flowery tents? We don't! We want to develop our own style just like every other woman, regardless of our size or shape.
Too Small, Too Big!
Whatever happened to "Just Right?"
Do clothing manufacturers really think that as soon as you reach a certain size you suddenly turn into a blob? You wouldn't think so - however you might start to question this after researching the typical proportions of plus size garments. Whilst there are some amazing lines of plus size clothing available - for the most part, manufactures are going to fall into the "tent" mindset. They will often go from one extreme to the other, offering women's clothes that are too small and plus size women's clothes that are too big. Where is the middle ground?
Plus Size Skinny Jeans
Something every voluptuous woman needs!
Plus size skinny jeans should be a staple in your wardrobe all year round. They go with everything. With a bit of added stretch, plus size skinny jeans hug your body in all of the right places and they are available in more styles that you might think. They come in black, grey, white and a number of bright colors including red, green, pink, purple and turquoise - just to name a few. There are even some really funky plus size skinny jeans with the added detail of zips and straps that would definitely make a fashion statement.

Best Jeans to Hide a Muffin Top
Jeans can be a girl's best friend; a multitude of styles to choose from; a variety of colours and textures; and, of course, their prevalence in the fashion industry make them the item of clothing a lot of us turn to most often.
However, when suffering with weight issues, jeans can also turn into your worst enemy.
Choose the wrong material, style or fit and you could have a fashion disaster on your hands!
So which are the best jeans for hiding your muffin top?
Before we consider the ideas of style or material, let us first take a look at the fit.
The most important thing when picking a pair of jeans is to make sure they fit your body correctly.
It's so frustrating when you find that pair of jeans that makes your butt look amazing, but the legs are baggy, or the legs fit like a dream, but the waist is too tight!
Unless you're willing to spend extra money at a tailor or happen to be good at sewing yourself, you should never settle for ill-fitting jeans.
If you really can't bear the thought of coming home empty handed try just focusing on the fit around the waist as this is where your muffin top will spring up if the jeans are too tight.
Remember though, it is possible to find the perfect pair with a little time and patience.
Next, the question of material.
It's a good idea to choose jeans made with stretchy material so that there's a little give if one area is a little snug while the rest fits perfectly.
I would also recommend wearing darker colours so as not to attract attention to your lower half. This also allows you to team the jeans with a wider variety of tops.
Finally, the style is important.
Choose something you're comfortable with and not something that is in fashion just for the sake of it - I have discovered that anything with a flare at the bottom is not my friend.
Avoid low rise jeans at all costs! These are the worst culprits when it comes to muffin top as they're so unforgiving and can dig in where you really don't want them to.
Try to go for a higher waistband instead - you can always wear a longer top to cover up where it rests on you.
Overall, the jeans to look out for when trying to hide your muffin top are:
• A perfect fit around the waist (and preferably the rest of the lower body as well)
• Made of stretch denim
• Dark in colour
• A style that suits your body type and makes you feel comfortable
• Not low rise!
• Relatively high-waisted
Keep these six criteria in mind the next time you go shopping and you can't go wrong!

The Ultimate Plus Size Clothing Store
Fashion Bug has been one of my favorite stores for many years. I used to shop there in the 80's when I was in high school and I still shop there today, twenty-something years later. Fashion Bug stores aren't the most common stores you see around, but that's a good thing. Buying your clothes at Fashion Bug will guarantee that you won't run into people wearing the same clothes you have hanging in YOUR closet, or worse, that you're wearing! I like that. I like that a lot. I like to have a little individuality, without having to be outlandish in my fashion style.
The main thing that has kept me shopping at Fashion Bug from my teens to my thirties is the range of sizes they carry. As I've gotten older, and more voluptuous, Fashion Bug has gone from being one of my favorite hip teen stores to one of my favorite plus size clothing stores. They carry a full range of sizes in all of their clothing and all of the accessories you will ever need.
Fashion Bug has some of the best plus size trendy clothing I've seen. I won't buy jeans anywhere else! They have plain jeans, embroidered jeans, and my favorite....jeans with bling on the pockets. Fashion Bug is one of the only stores for plus size women that has jeans which are flattering and stylish and as young looking as you are.
They don't just carry jeans though! They have a wide selection of fashionable clothing including vintage print tees, tank tops, hoodies and active wear. Fashion Bug has a full selection of clothing suitable for office or evening wear. They also carry bridal gowns and if you need a new swimsuit for the honeymoon, you'll find that there too!
I really just can't say enough about them. Out of all of the plus size clothing stores out there, Fashion Bug is my absolute favorite. Their range of styles and flattering designs are perfect for every young (or young at heart) lady out there. Their fantastic and frequent sales make shopping there easy on my budget also! Next time you're looking for something fresh and new, find your nearest Fashion Bug! I promise you won't regret it!

Tummy Tuck Jeans Are Definitely Not Your Daughter's Jeans
If you're like most women, the thought of wearing a pair of jeans that acknowledges and even agrees with the fact that your body looks less than stellar may be a bit of a turnoff. However, when those same jeans also make your body look completely hot and promise to fit you in a size smaller than your regular size, the pill becomes a little bit easier to swallow.
The name tummy tuck jeans may remind you of a bad infomercial, but women all over the world are talking quite a bit about the jeans with the stretchy denim that makes your stomach and torso look flatter than they have in years. The cut of the jeans also tends to make your legs look a tad more longer, which is a major bonus for petite woman who usually have to wear heels to make themselves appear taller. The patented material which is somewhat related to Lycra also makes the legs appear slimmer. The material has a bit of suction action to it that almost seems to move and lift your bottom in a way that no other jean or pant material can accomplish.
Granted, the smaller dress size may be a clever marketing tactic but you can't fake how a pair of jeans makes you look. The darker shades of denim also have a way of making you look smart and fashionable. Unlike corsets which try to choke the life out of you and create large rolls of flesh, tummy tuck jeans have a more gentle approach to making your stomach look flat. Imagine the comfort of leggings or sweatpants without the cheesy look of sloppy 80s fashion and you'll have yourself a pair of jeans you'll never want to take off.
Some women may be afraid of the high cut, but nothing frightens people as much as a muffin top staring them straight in the face. The cut of the jeans has a way of making the high waist look less extreme than the cheap variety of jeans you'll find on the clearance rack of your local superstore. Tummy tuck jeans can be a bit on the expensive side for those with a tight budget but if they make you feel better about your appearance and boost your confidence then the higher price tag is probably worth it.

Women Who Wear Tight Jeans Can't Claim Rape?
A man in Australia was found not guilty of raping a woman, by a court jury recently. The jury stated that he could not have taken the victims jeans off by himself, therefore she must have helped and the rape was consensual. The woman was apparently wearing very tight jeans. This is not an isolated case either...
In Seoul, a 7 year sentence of a man accused of raping a woman was overturned, because she also was wearing very tight jeans. Another court case in Italy also dealt with a woman wearing tight jeans where supposedly the man could not have raped her without her consent. Fortunately, that case ended in the man being found guilty.
What does this mean? Let's think about this for moment... This means that rapists or perverts are now going to start targeting women with tight jeans because the courts are allowing it. This is a loophole for future rapists! OR perhaps others might say, women need to start wearing tight jeans, in order for them not to get raped? This is all nonsense!
Women are not the ones with the problem here, rapists or perverts are to blame. Women should be able to wear any clothing that is appropriate in society. Do you ever hear of men getting raped because some of them wear their pants down to their crack? Why the double standard? Us women need to be aware and watch closely, so that this doesn't become a trend with courts in the USA!

Big Beautiful Woman
If someone called you a BBW, would you be offended? BBW is webspeak used to describe plus sized women. In other words, they would be paying you compliments by saying you are a Big Beautiful Woman! There are so many other terms that can be used to describe plus sized women, but BBW is by far the most complimentary. Who doesn't want to be called beautiful? I can't think of a single woman on this earth! Some other terms are queen, full-figured, overweight, obese, super-size, fat girl, etc. While queen and full-figured aren't demeaning, the rest of the terms are and they may lead to feelings of exclusion for some women.
The acronym BBW doesn't have a specific overweight connotation to it. You can be just a few pounds or hundreds of pounds overweight to be considered BBW. As long as you have a curvy shape, you're considered big and beautiful! A big and beautiful woman could have, although it's not required, a plump body shape, large breasts, and wide hips. In other words, full-figured and voluptuous women are what generally come to mind when BBW is mentioned but it's not necessarily what a BBW is made of. Some women use the term BBW as a personal preference rather than full-figured, because overweight women may not necessarily have large breasts or hips.
The term spread through the Internet during the 1990s, and is used mainly in the United States. The term Big Beautiful Women has been adopted by many dating sites and therefore promotes the idea of larger bodied females as a common and accepted preference. BBW is often found in personal ads from men who prefer their romantic partners larger bodied. Before BBW was coined, negative words were used to describe these men such as Fat Admirers (FA) and Chubby Chasers which is degrading to the women they are attracted to.
Thanks to the World Wide Web, large women are more accepted and made to feel good about themselves. BBW have become confidant women of size. They now have a new acceptance of their bodies. They realize that uniqueness is not something to be embarrassed about. Uniqueness allows for personality to emerge. The sensual side of a BBW now has a place in the bedroom. There is no need to hide her body! Lingerie has begun to cater to the larger woman. There are so many sexy styles out there that make a plus-sized hottie look even better. No boundaries is the newest motto of the lingerie world. Barriers are coming down! There are many items that are daring, but there are also plenty of picks for the conservative beauty. Once, BBW were embarrassed to wear a corset or a short nightie, but now they are embracing their beauty and going for a sexy new look! Shopping has never been so much fun!

A Brief Guide to Jean Rises
One of the most confusing things about finding a great fitting pair of women's jeans can be selecting the right rise for your body. The rise of a pair of women's jeans is where those jeans sit on your hips and waist. This is measured by the length from the top of the waistband to the center point between the legs of the jeans. Different companies have different names for the variety of rises available in women's jeans ranging from "Ultra Low" to "High" so it's important that you try on a few different styles from each manufacturer in order to figure out which one fits your body best. After you find a pair of jeans that has the right rise and is the right size and get them home it's a smart idea to cut off the tag in the jeans and keep it so that you will know what size you need for that brand when you're shopping in the future. Men's jeans are much simpler to figure out.
It's important to choose a rise that fits your body. If you don't your jeans will end up creating unflattering lines that can make you look shorter and heavier. Wearing a rise that's too low can create a "muffin top" when the waistband of the jeans squeezes skin upwards over the waistband. You also could end up having to wear long tops to cover other figure flaws created by the fit of the jeans. Unlike other fit problems that can be fixed with the help of a tailor the rise of a pair of jeans can't be changed. Because each company that makes women's jeans sizes their jeans differently figuring out what the rise of a pair of women's jeans is can be confusing. Here's a brief overview of the basic women's jean rises:
Low A low or ultra low rise jean has a rise of 5 inches to 8 inches. These jeans sit well below the belly button and usually are on the lower end of the hips. Only a very small percentage of women can wear these and look good, and they are not considered age appropriate for anyone older than their mid-20s. If you do wear low rise jeans don't wear them to formal occasions or to work. Most workplaces have dress codes that prohibit low rise jeans.
Medium A medium rise jean has a rise of 9 inches to 11 inches. These jeans should sit just below your waist. Medium rise jeans are flattering on almost every body type and are age appropriate for most adults. Choosing medium rise jeans is a great way to look stylish and modern while still being comfortable and being able to move comfortably in your jeans.
High A high rise jean has a rise of 12 inches or more and sits above the belly button. High rise women's jeans are also sometimes called "Mom Jeans". High rise jeans are rarely flattering on any figure because they create a bulky shape and don't lie flat across the front which makes the tummy area seem bigger.

Cambio Jeans - Stylishly Pricey
Cambio Jeans are known for designing women's jeans for every occasion. Their collection includes jeans that can be worn to the park and jeans that can be worn to the office. They even have elegant jeans that you can wear to the opera or on a night out. Cambio Jeans also stand out because each style of jean has a female name.
Yes, there's Sharon the straight leg jean. There's Jade the bootcut, Brenda the low-rise with flare leg and so on and so on. They even add additional colors and styles to their collection each season. You can say they are on top of things as far as marketing and style go.
One would think they were perfect if it weren't for price. Sure you can find a pair on sale but those are usually the styles that are not so popular. If you want the cool looking bootcut or even Sharon straight leg jean then be prepared to pay around two hundred dollars. That's a whole lot of money for one pair of jeans.
Cambio Jeans boast that their jeans use quality fabrics and are also an excellent fit. They also assert that their jeans offer comfort and a sophisticated style. One would think they're buying more than just a pair of jeans with that description.
Admittedly they are very stylish but for the price of one pair of Cambio Jeans I can buy a brand name pair of jeans, brand name shirt and a pair of nice shoes. Buying Cambio jeans is certainly an individual call, but for two hundred dollars for their bootcut, I think I'll pass.
